The Charles (Karl) Blieffert photograph album dates from 1908 to 1917 and includes 249 black and white photographs of young friends of Charles Blieffert in the Coney Island, Sheepshead Bay, and Brighton Beach neighborhoods of Brooklyn. The photographs show bathing fashion, boat rides, dinner parties, and other social gatherings. Highlights include a shot of the Knickerbocker Field Club (1917), a dead shark being pulled from the water (1916), the Blieffert family home at 18th Avenue near Gravesend Avenue, and a clam bake at Felton's. Many of the photographs are dated and identified with handwritten information on the verso.
